WHY DOES BEING INDEPENDENT MATTER?
I was once at an industry poster awards ceremony and the Guest Speaker was a very famous Creative Director. Invited to talk for 30 minutes on the subject of why he liked posters, he stood up, pronounced that he liked posters because they were... big. And then he sat down. Nothing else to say because he had said it all in one word. My answer to why Independence matters is also one word... freedom.
